Breakaway Explained

Breakaway is a weeklong break for Concordia students during the fall and spring semesters. It's a chance for Concordia students to press pause on class and campus life and engage with their fellow Cobbers and the world around them. Breakaway opportunities range from traditional classroom settings to PEAK experiences.

Some students will go on a Habitat for Humanity trip or Justice Journey, visit the Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, participate in a Narrative 4 event, conduct cell biology research, produce a film documentary, travel to Haiti for a service-learning experience, dive deep into a course, or engage in local service projects while staying on campus for sports practice.

Who's Eligible?

Most Breakaway experiences are open to all Concordia students. Some experiences are built in to specific classes and are only open to students enrolled in the course.
