Leading When You're Not in Charge
You want to make an impact where you work, right? Like most Cobbers, you arrive at your workplace ready to work hard and make a difference. But, especially if you work off campus or when you start that first job after you graduate, you will be unknown. Despite your smart brain and your fantastic education, you will be seen as the inexperienced new hire who has a lot to learn and you won’t be seen as a leader (yet). How can you set yourself apart and show your leadership potential from day one? This session will share several simple strategies to help you get noticed and build positive influence, even when you aren’t in charge of anyone or anything. Even better, you can start practicing these strategies now in your job on campus or in the community. They will apply no matter where you work or volunteer!
