Assessment

Faculty and staff are supported in the on-going evaluation of the student learning experience.

Assessment of student learning at Concordia occurs on many levels including individual or student, course, program/department, and institutional.

Individual or student level

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness administers a wide range of assessment indicators, for example, NSSE (National Survey of Student Engagement).

Program/department level

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness provides Concordia’s faculty/staff with support and consultation.  In addition, small faculty development grants have been available to support work on departmental assessment plans (based on available funding).

Institutional level

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness conducts a variety of assessment activities (such as focus groups), provides assessment reports and analyses and supports Concordia’s accreditation process.

Assessment Committee

The committee oversees the assessment of student learning and development as well as reviews and monitors curriculum assessment data.
