Dr. Michael Culloton

Artistic Director and Conductor

Dr. Michael Culloton is an associate professor of music at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where he is the director of choral activities, conductor of The Concordia Choir, and the Paul J. and Eleanor Christiansen Chair of Choral Music. Culloton teaches vocal music education and church music courses, serves as a campus supervisor of student teachers, and advises the student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Along with his duties at Concordia and with Concordia Choir Camp, Culloton is the artistic director and conductor of the Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists and conductor of the Trinity Lutheran Church Cathedral Choir. Prior to this appointment, Culloton served as the associate director of choirs at Concordia College for eight years, conducting the Chapel Choir, Cantabile, and Kantorei. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., where he studied with René Clausen, and his Master of Music degree from the University of Arizona, where he studied with Maurice Skones. Culloton completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree through North Dakota State University, where he studied with Jo Ann Miller and Michael Weber. He lives in Moorhead with his wife Brynn, who works in the Admission Office at Concordia, and their daughters, Eleanor and Miriam.

Greta Nelson

Assistant Conductor and Dean of Students

Greta Nelson is the 9-12 choral director at Webster City High School in Webster City, Iowa. She is an active member of the Fort Dodge Choral Society, Webster City Community Chorus, and sings in a local worship band. Nelson has a deep connection with the Minnesota All-State Lutheran Choir. She was a singer in 2014 and 2015, and a section leader in 2018 and 2019. When the program transitioned to be an affiliate of Concordia College, she helped oversee this changeover. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, where she studied with Dr. Lee Nelson and Dr. Nikki Bakko Toliver.

Dr. Stephanie Tubiolo

Assistant Conductor

Dr. Stephanie Tubiolo is an assistant professor of choral music and conductor of the Concordia Chapel Choir and Kantorei. She holds a B.A. in music from Yale College, an M.M. in choral conducting from the Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music, and a D.M.A. from Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers), where she won the Irene Alm Memorial Prize for Excellence in Performance and Scholarly Research for her doctoral work. Prior to Concordia College, Dr. Tubiolo taught at Rutgers–New Brunswick, where she served as conductor of the University Choir and Voorhees Choir and as chorus master of Rutgers Opera Theatre.

Andrew Steinberg

Accompanist

Andrew Steinberg is sanctuary worship director and organist at Trinity Lutheran Church and choral department accompanist for Concordia College, Moorhead. Steinberg holds a master’s degree in organ performance and a certificate in liturgical studies from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, studying with Dr. Joel Bacon. Steinberg is a graduate of Concordia College, studying with Peter Nygaard. Steinberg is frequently called on as a soloist as well as a collaborative accompanist in instrumental and choral activities featuring organ, harpsichord, and piano.

Steinberg has served as organist and worship director at congregations in the Twin Cities, Fort Collins, and the Fargo-Moorhead area. He helped develop and run the Celebration of Organ Week in Fort Collins, which has brought world-class artists for a week of performing and teaching. He remains active as an organist, collaborative accompanist, and teacher. Steinberg is pursuing a doctorate in collaborative piano with Dr. Tyler Wottrich at NDSU.
