FARGO — The Downtown Fargo Street Fair is only a few weeks away, and Brenna Crompton is preparing to spread mental health awareness and positivity through her apparel brand, Brenna M & Co.

Crompton, a local vendor and popular small business owner, is gearing up for her fifth year at the Fargo Street Fair and anticipates high demand for her best-selling embroidered sweatshirts featuring designs like "Always Tired" and "Overstimulated," as well as her handmade crochet flowers.

She started her business in 2019 as a sophomore at Concordia College, selling scrunchies from her dorm room with the sewing skills she learned from her grandma. Since then, her business has grown significantly, with a strong social media following on Instagram and YouTube, and an expanded product line beyond scrunchies.

Crompton, who grew up in Moorhead, graduated from Concordia in 2022 with a degree in business and marketing. In 2020, when she was a junior, she rebranded her shop as Brenna M & Co. and transitioned from masks and scrunchies to embroidered apparel and accessories — including her mental health-focused product line.
