CONCORDIA NAMES NEW SCHOOL OF BUSINESS DEAN
Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., has named Dr. Greg Cant as the founding dean for the college’s new School of Business. The school will open the fall of 2008.
Cant is chair of the department of management in the School of Business at Central Washington University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in labor relations and economics from the University of Western Australia, a master’s degree in industrial relations from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, and his doctorate in management from the University of Western Australia.
“Dr. Cant is ideally suited to launch our business school,” says President Pamela Jolicoeur. “His proven leadership and international portfolio put him in prime position to establish a distinctive program at Concordia. His emphasis on globally focused, experiential education will develop business leaders who are ready to serve and succeed in today’s world.”
The Concordia College School of Business will focus on experiential, global and ethical learning, which the college believes is an essential foundation for business leadership in the 21st Century. Concordia has 460 declared majors in the business, accounting and economics department with 850 students taking courses in the department each semester. The department offers the Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in accounting, business, economics, healthcare management, international business, management, and marketing. In addition, the department hosts the Center for Ethical Leadership offering seminars, conferences, and workshops focusing on values-based leadership for individuals and organizations.
