Religion

Biblical Hebrew is a World Language option.  The second semester (REL 212) would satisfy the World Language requirement.  Both semesters of Biblical Hebrew would apply to the Major.  It is offered alternating years.  (Next offered 2024-2025.)  Students could delay their language study to the second year if they want to take Hebrew and that is the year it is offered.

Students typically take REL 200 in their sophomore year because REL 200 draws on the oral and written skills developed and practiced in COM 110 and ENG 110.  REL 200 is the foundational course required for most religion courses offered. If a Religion Major wants to begin their course of study in their sophomore year and the courses are at the posted capacity before they can register, they should contact the Religion Department chair and complete an override request form.
