Pre-Med

If first-year students do not bring in college credit for Calculus, they can take this particular Math course at a later time, as it is not on the MCAT.

For that reason, Pre-Med advisor, Dr. Julie Rutherford, recommends PSYC 111 (Introductory Psychology) in the spring semester or SOC 111 (Human Society), since both of those courses/topics are MCAT material.

Psychology

The Psychology department recommends a newly-added course, PSYC 218 (Behavior Modification) to any first-year students who have already completed the equivalent of PSYC 111 (Introductory Psychology).

If a student transfers in PSYC 111 or PSYC 206 and wishes to take a Psychology class during their first semester, the student is advised to select one of the following courses appropriate for first or second year students: PSYC 206, 227, 218 or 345. Other Psychology courses should be taken during the junior or senior year.
