Move-In (Fall 2024)

New students may move in Sunday, Aug. 25. Orientation begins later that afternoon and classes begin Wednesday, Aug. 28. Fall athletes may move in early — your student should watch for information from their coach. All students will receive additional move-in instructions beginning in mid-July.

Move-In Day Tips:

  • Move-in day starts at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25!
  • There will be people and signs (and people holding signs!) to direct you to a parking spot when you arrive.
  • You'll go directly to the lobby of your student's residence hall, where a res life representative will greet you, issue your student their key, and provide directions to your student's room.
  • Then, you can move your vehicle to an unloading zone and start hauling things in! There will be about a dozen people waiting to help you unload your student's belongings.
  • Loft rentals can be picked up at:
    • the lot south of Hvidsten Hall (for students in Hoyum and Livedalen) or
    • the lot just east of Hallett/Erickson
  • If you have any questions or aren't sure about something, anyone in a Residence Life, Orientation, or an alumni T-shirt should be able to answer them or direct you to someone who can.

Blessing the Journey

After you move your student to campus, you will have the option to attend Blessing the Journey.

Blessing the Journey is a service led by Concordia Campus Ministry to commission our incoming students into their journey at Concordia. Remarks from President Irvine, a time of blessing and commissioning from our campus ministers, and the receiving of the Cobber beanie will officially begin the Concordia experience before family members say farewell.

Accommodation Requests

Residence Life is committed to working with students needing accessibility or other accommodations. We work closely with the Counseling and Disability Services Office. All requests should be sent to that office and Residence Life will work with Disability Services to determine appropriate housing arrangements.
