Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff, 

This is the start of flu season, and health experts say it could be the worst season in years, with COVID and RSV only adding to the problem.  

After returning from the fall break and visiting family and friends (and all their germs!), keep these tips in mind to help prevent illness and reduce spread:    

  • Wash your hands regularly 
  • Cover your mouth and nose with your arm or tissue when coughing and sneezing 
  • Stay home when sick 
  • Get vaccinated 
    • Schedule a flu and COVID appointment with Clay County Public Health 
    • Contact your provider/pharmacist  

Several flu and COVID symptoms are the same, so be sure to get tested. There are free COVID tests at the Campus Info desk in Knutson. Minnesota residents (including students living on campus) can have free tests mailed to them. You can find testing sites and test reimbursement info here. 

Remember to report positive cases to the COVID Helpline at covid19helpline@cord.edu or 701.730.8304.
